District Interact Conference : Episode 1

Dum dum dum dum dum dum.....No...this is not Star Wars : Episode 1 but instead the District Interact Conference...don't ask why I used the term episode 1...I think it sounds cool...*laughs*.....anyway the conference was a 3 days 2 nights trip and it was held in the USM (Universiti Sains Malayasia) in Penang. The conference started on the 23rd and ended on the 25th of November 2007. It was a bit disappointing since there wasn't much participation this year compared to last year....only 2 of our school interactors went for the conference....maybe i'll call them heroes of the Damansara Jaya Interact (just joking). Anyway those 2 students were :

1. Rabin Patmanathan
2. Koh Li Wen (Webmaster)

Ok...story time people....I hope you people out there don't get bored when reading this....if so then long story short...both me and Rabin took the NICE bus from the old railway station and headed straight for the Sg. Nibong bus station in Penang...

The old railway station where we took our bus

Both Rabin and I looking like fools *laugh*

We took a 8.15 am bus but you know Malaysian time is always....kinda slow...so in the end we left at 9 am and arrive at the Sg. Nibong bus station at around 1pm.

The Sg. Nibong station

As we arrived we took a taxi to the USM hostel to register. Actually there are a lot more to say when we arrived there...but anyway that doesn't matter...Arriving at the registration area....there were so many people waiting in line to get registered so we took our time by waiting...so we went to check out the number of Interact Clubs on the list and it was amazing to see that one club alone brought 50 over students compared to our club that brought 2 only....*laugh*....the lowest was 1 only...glad we were not them...haha

Now that the number of people registering was decreasing...we stood in line and waited....Rabin had no problem getting his keys to his dormitory...as for me ...I guess there was a little black cloud above my head since somebody kinda took (mistakenly or purposely..i don't know) my keys to my dormitory...by the way we didn't stay in the same dormitory.....because of this I had to wait until 4pm just to get a set of keys...before i got them we had to go for a short briefing at the hall...the briefing was conducted by 2 rotarators and the camp commandent...

After the briefing everyone was separated into 24 groups (if I'm not mistaken) Rabin was in group 6 and he was the GROUP LEADER also...as for me, I was in group 5...there was a short tea break after that....and finally I got a new set of keys...Soon it was dinner time..there were speeches....etc....then there were games...

By 12 midnight everyone was back at their dormitory and well lights out....

~ THE END~
